NCAA Considers Suspension of Royal Air Maroc in Nigeria

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has threatened to suspend Royal Air Maroc's operations in Nigeria due to ongoing violations of passenger rights, inadequate baggage handling, and a lack of adherence to regulatory directives. Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, expressed his frustration on his verified X handle, citing the airline's poor handling of consumer complaints, particularly regarding delayed or mishandled baggage.

Despite being sanctioned in 2025 for similar infractions, Royal Air Maroc has not improved its services, leading to an increase in passenger complaints. Achimugu noted that the airline often fails to provide timely communication regarding baggage issues and necessary assistance.

Furthermore, the NCAA accused the airline of neglecting invitations to resolve outstanding complaints, with Country Manager Ahmed Boussouf reportedly dismissing the authority's concerns. The NCAA emphasized that it would not tolerate any airline's disregard for Nigerian passengers and regulatory compliance.
