Saudi Airlines Faces N6 Million NCAA Sanction in Nigeria

Saudi Airlines has not provided a response to inquiries concerning a N6 million sanction imposed by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for alleged violations of consumer protection regulations. The NCAA announced the sanction, stating it was necessary due to the airline's failure to resolve multiple outstanding consumer complaints, despite repeated interventions and an extended grace period granted by the regulatory authority.

The issues primarily involved incidents at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The NCAA had previously opted for dialogue and allowed additional time for the airline to address these consumer protection issues.

However, the airline's continued failure to meet its obligations left the NCAA with no choice but to impose the sanction, which is in line with the provisions of Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023. The NCAA emphasized that the sanction is not intended to hinder the airline's operations but aims to ensure compliance and improve service delivery for passengers.
