NCC Transfers Digital Industrial Park to Enugu State

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) formalized a 15-year operational lease of the NCC Digital Industrial Park and NCC Learning Centre to the Enugu State Government, reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria’s digital economy agenda. Dr.

Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, announced this partnership during a handover ceremony in Enugu. He described the facilities as essential platforms for innovation, entrepreneurship, and human capital development, aimed at enhancing digital skills, supporting startups, attracting investments, and creating jobs.

Maida emphasized that the success of these facilities would be measured by their impact on skills development and job creation, rather than the physical infrastructure alone. The NCC's decision to transfer the facilities was influenced by the Enugu State Government's investments in education and digital capacity.

This initiative aligns with national priorities, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and aims to position Nigeria as a competitive destination for technology-enabled services.
