NCC Leases Digital Facilities to Enugu State Government

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has formalized a 15-year operational lease of the NCC Digital Industrial Park and NCC Learning Centre to the Enugu State Government. Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, announced this partnership during a handover ceremony in Enugu.

He described the facilities as essential platforms for developing human capital, fostering innovation, and supporting entrepreneurship, which are crucial for Nigeria's digital future. Maida emphasized that the initiative goes beyond physical infrastructure, focusing on capacity building, expanding opportunities, and supporting enterprises within the digital economy.

He noted that the success of these facilities would be measured by their impact on skills development, idea generation, and job creation. The decision to transfer the facilities was influenced by the Enugu State Government's commitment to education, infrastructure, and digital capacity, with expectations that this partnership will position Enugu as a leading destination for digital services and technology-enabled enterprises.
