NCC Hosts Forum on Shared Duct Pricing in Abuja

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) conducted its second stakeholders' forum on shared duct pricing under Nigeria's Dig-Once Policy in Abuja on Wednesday. The forum aimed to present findings from a study that developed a cost-based pricing structure for shared duct infrastructure.

Mr. Omotayo Moham, head of the Competitive Tariff Commission, noted the importance of establishing a transparent and equitable pricing framework to support sustainable infrastructure development across sectors.

The NCC recognized the need for a defined pricing mechanism to ensure efficient investment and access to shared duct infrastructure. The first stakeholders' forum provided valuable insights that helped shape the study's direction.

The NCC is committed to a transparent consultation process to balance the interests of infrastructure providers and access seekers, ultimately encouraging continued investment in broadband infrastructure.
