NCDC to Host 20-Year Development Summit in Abuja

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) is set to hold its first North Central Stakeholders’ Development Summit from September 14 to 15, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja. Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Head Media and Corporate Communications of the NCDC, announced that the summit is themed “The Great Leap Forward: A 20-Year Economic, Infrastructural and Social Development Plan for the North Central Region.” The event will gather political leaders, government institutions, traditional rulers, technocrats, private sector representatives, youth and women groups, persons with disabilities, and development partners to discuss a comprehensive development agenda for the region.
NCDC Chairman Cosmas Akighir stated that the summit will provide a platform for stakeholders to address development challenges and opportunities. Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, Managing Director/CEO of the NCDC, emphasized the summit's role in aligning regional development priorities with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The summit's outcomes will be facilitated by collaboration with Phillips Consulting.
