NCDMB Launches Advanced Medical Lab at Bayelsa University

On Friday, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) commissioned a state-of-the-art medical laboratory at Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) in Yenagoa, aimed at improving healthcare education and strengthening local capacity in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The event was marked by a ceremony where Felix Ogb, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, emphasized the importance of building capacity beyond the oil and gas sector, highlighting the interconnectedness of healthcare education and various industries.

Professor Dimi Ogoina, Vice Chancellor of BMU, expressed gratitude for the NCDMB's support, noting the laboratory's role in enhancing medical education and reducing medical errors. The facility will allow students to acquire essential clinical skills in a safe environment.

Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State, commended the NCDMB for its investment in healthcare education, while Professor Philip Eyimina, Provost of the College of Medicine, acknowledged the significance of the upgraded laboratory in achieving national accreditation standards.
