Oyebanji Inaugurates New Medical Laboratory in Ekiti

On Wednesday, during an event in Iker Ekiti, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji inaugurated a modern medical laboratory donated to the State Specialist Hospital by Chief of Defence Staff Gen Olufemi Oluyed. Governor Oyebanji emphasized the importance of robust diagnostic services for effective treatment, highlighting that the laboratory will significantly improve access to essential diagnostic services for the community, eliminating the need for long-distance travel for specialized investigations.

The facility, named after Oluyed's mother, includes various specialized sections such as haematology, chemical pathology, histopathology, and medical microbiology. Governor Oyebanji urged hospital management to maintain professional standards in handling patients and equipment.

The event also featured contributions from various dignitaries, including Dr. Olasunkanmi Alabi, who noted the laboratory's role in enhancing clinical outcomes and patient management.

Oyebanji reiterated the administration's commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, including investments in primary and secondary health facilities across Ekiti State.
