NDC Demands Suspension of Lagos CP for Political Bias

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for the immediate suspension of Tijani Fatai, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, following his attendance at an event organized by the City Boy Movement in Lagos. The NDC criticized Fatai's presence at the inauguration of the Lagos chapter of the City Boy Movement, which reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and aimed to mobilize young Nigerians for the upcoming presidential election.

The event, held in Ikeja, was attended by political figures, traditional rulers, youth groups, and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The NDC accused Fatai of conduct that could compromise public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force's neutrality during elections, stating that senior security officials should avoid situations that suggest political alignment.

They demanded disciplinary action against Fatai and emphasized the need for police neutrality and equal protection for all political parties and their supporters. As of the report's filing, there was no official response from the Lagos State Police Command or the Force Headquarters.
