NDC Urges Candidates to Maintain Peaceful Campaigns

On Friday, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) instructed its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, along with its governorship and National Assembly candidates for the 2027 general elections, to ensure their campaigns are issue-based and peaceful. The party's directive follows the commencement of the electioneering period as per the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary, urged candidates to engage with stakeholders and constituents while promoting the NDC's programs. He stated that local consultations and campaign activities should begin immediately.

The NDC also plans to announce the composition of its campaign organs soon. Additionally, the party clarified that it has modified its logo in consultation with INEC, although some administrative issues are still being resolved before the new logo can be adopted.

Until then, candidates are advised to continue using the old logo, which features the two-finger victory sign.
