NDLEA Arrests Couple for Operating Drug Warehouse in Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a couple, Christian Chukwuka, aged 32, and Nwanneka Christian, aged 33, for allegedly operating a drug warehouse located in a residential area along Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo State. The operation, which took place following credible intelligence, led to the seizure of 22 bags of skunk weighing 219.5 kilograms and 192.67 kilograms of a potent synthetic cannabis strain known as Canadian Loud.

Mitchel Ofoyeju, the NDLEA spokesperson, stated that the arrests reflect growing concerns over drug trafficking and abuse in the state. The agency is committed to dismantling illegal drug operations and ensuring justice is served, with ongoing investigations into the couple's activities.

Christian Chukwuka reportedly became involved in drug trafficking due to financial pressures after losing his job as a truck driver, which he attributes to poverty and unemployment.
