NEDC Installs Solar Power Systems in Adamawa State

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has initiated the installation of solar power systems in all 21 local government areas of Adamawa State. Alhaji Khalifa Lawan, the NEDC's Adamawa State coordinator, stated that this project is part of Pillar Seven of the commission's master plan, aimed at boosting small-scale business activities.

The project will see the installation of more than 2,000 solar power systems, with 350 systems allocated to each local government area, in addition to existing installations in Yola, the state capital. Lawan emphasized that the solar power systems would not only enhance economic activities but also reduce criminal activities by providing better lighting in communities, making it harder for criminals to operate unnoticed.

The NEDC has identified 1,000 locations for the first phase of the project and ensures that projects are tailored to the needs of beneficiary communities. Lawan urged communities to protect these installations to ensure their continued benefit.
