Nenadi Usman-led Labour Party Faction Sets Convention Date Amid Membership Drive

The Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party in Nigeria has set February 28 for its convention. The faction inaugurated a national steering committee and announced a membership revalidation and new registration exercise at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

The party's timetable includes a series of congresses starting from January 13, 2026. Senator Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairman, described the program as a strategic effort to reposition and strengthen the party amidst internal disputes.

The deputy governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, emphasized the 10 million membership drive as a call to action to strengthen democracy and amplify citizen voices.
