Nenadi Usman Calls for Police Probe into Labour Party Attack

Nenadi Usman, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, has urged the police to investigate an attack on the party's headquarters in Abuja that occurred on Tuesday night. She accused loyalists of the ousted chairman, Julius Abur, of unlawfully gaining entry into the party office, where they forcibly broke into several offices and stole valuable documents.

The attack, which took place around 8 PM on Wednesday, also involved the destruction of a billboard featuring Usman's image. Following the incident, Usman led a delegation from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to assess the damage.

She described the attack as a terrible criminal act aimed at destroying the party's office. Usman expressed her expectation that appropriate measures would be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice and criticized the involvement of state security personnel in the attack.

She also mentioned an ongoing appeal against a Federal High Court judgment that ousted Abur, asserting that the party would continue to mobilize nationwide membership despite the challenges.
