Labour Party Demands Arrest of Julius Abure Over Invasion

The Labour Party has demanded the arrest and prosecution of Julius Abure and others for alleged criminal activities, including invasion of the party's national secretariat in Abuja. This demand was made by the faction led by Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwokocha during a press conference on Monday.

Theophilus Ndubuaku, the Deputy National Chairman, emphasized the party's commitment to constitutional democracy and the rule of law, urging respect for judicial pronouncements. The party referenced a Supreme Court judgment delivered on April 4, 2025, affirming Usman as the legitimate national chairman.

They formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police for an immediate investigation into allegations against Abure, including trespass, armed robbery, theft, assault, and conspiracy. The party also called on the Attorney General of the Federation to act on a criminal prosecution order dated March 7, 2025, concerning Abure and others.

The Labour Party remains committed to peace and reconciliation, planning a national convention in March-April 2026.
