NERDC Disclaims Fake Funding Request for Curriculum

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) issued a disclaimer regarding a fraudulent document circulating that requests financial support for the production, printing, and distribution of the Revised Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) for the 2026/2027 academic session. Executive Secretary Professor Salisu Shehu, in a statement made available on Monday in Abuja, described the document as fictitious, frivolous, and unauthorized.

He emphasized that NERDC has not issued any correspondence seeking financial assistance for this purpose and urged the public to ignore such requests. The Council assured that adequate plans are in place for the effective production and distribution of the revised curriculum through appropriate federal and state authorities and agencies in the education sector.

Shehu reaffirmed NERDC's commitment to maintaining integrity in its communications and safeguarding Nigeria’s national curriculum, stating that all legitimate information would be communicated through official channels.
