NERDC Extends 2026 Textbook Submission Deadline to August

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has announced a final extension for the submission of textbooks and instructional materials for the 2026 Phase I assessment, reassessment, and ranking exercise. The new deadline is set for 7 August 2026, an extension from the previous deadline of 3 July 2026.

This decision, approved by the Federal Ministry of Education, aims to encourage wider participation among publishers, authors, and other stakeholders in the national textbook evaluation process. Professor Salisu Shehu, the Executive Secretary of NERDC, stated that the extension allows more participants to finalize and submit their materials.

NERDC urged all intending participants to utilize this final opportunity, emphasizing that submissions must adhere to the established Textbook Quality Indicators and Submission Guidelines, which remain unchanged and are available on their official website. The Council warned that the 7 August deadline is final, with no further extensions anticipated, and expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their cooperation.
