NERDC Extends Textbook Submission Deadline to August 2026

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has announced a final extension for the submission of textbooks and instructional materials for the 2026 Phase I assessment, reassessment, and ranking exercise. The new deadline is set for August 7, 2026, following an earlier deadline of July 3, 2026.

This extension, approved by the Federal Ministry of Education, aims to encourage broader participation in the national textbook evaluation process, allowing publishers, authors, and stakeholders additional time to finalize their submissions. In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of NERDC, Prof.

Salisu Shehu, the Council emphasized that this final extension is intended to ensure that more participants can engage in the assessment process. NERDC urged all intending participants to comply with the Textbook Quality Indicators and Submission Guidelines, which remain unchanged and are available on their official website.

The Council warned that the August 7 deadline is final, stating that no further extensions will be granted and late submissions will not be accepted.
