NES Partners Ogun State for Public Servant Training

The Nigerian Economic Society has proposed a partnership with the Ogun State Government to enhance the capacity of public servants in policy planning and implementation through training programs focused on data analysis. This initiative, disclosed during a visit by the Society's executive members led by Chairperson Prof.

Comfort Moradek, aims to strengthen good governance in Ogun State. Mr.

Olaolu Olabimtan, the head of the Ministry of Budget and Planning, emphasized the need for a structured development agenda anchored on reliable data. The training program is designed to improve the capabilities of government personnel in evidence-based decision-making, contributing to sustainable economic development in Ogun State.

The Society also plans to institutionalize an annual economic outlook report and establish a knowledge hub for continuous policy research and training within the state's ministries, departments, and agencies. The partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the state's development agenda.
