Oyo State Urges Civil Servants to Upskill for Efficiency

On Friday, Prof. Abdulwaheed Adelabu, representing the Oyo State Government, charged civil servants to seek knowledge beyond their current capabilities to remain relevant in their roles.

This statement was made during the opening of a training workshop for 85 workers at the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State. Adelabu highlighted the necessity for civil servants to undergo training to acquire additional skills that would enhance their efficiency and responsiveness at the state level.

He assured that the welfare of workers remains a priority for the state governor, Seyi Makinde, amidst ongoing economic hardships. The workshop included participation from four groups, comprising auditors, accountants, and secretariat staff, with trainers drawn from 25 ministries, departments, and agencies.

Adelabu encouraged participants to learn and earn, aiming to increase their sources of income.
