Tinubu Congratulates First Female NBA President Badejo-Okusanya

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu received Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Badejo-Okusanya was accompanied by senior lawyers and members of her campaign team.

In the recent NBA national election, she secured 12,317 votes, which accounted for 47.18 percent of the total votes cast. This victory made her the first elected female President of the NBA, defeating her closest rivals, Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who received 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who garnered 5,855 votes.

President Tinubu congratulated Badejo-Okusanya on her election, describing her achievement as a milestone for the legal profession and a triumph for merit, excellence, and gender inclusion.
