NFF Launches Coaching Reform to Elevate Standards

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is intensifying its efforts to raise the quality of coaching and refereeing in Nigerian football. Dr.

Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF General Secretary, announced the launch of a structured development program during a six-day CAF refresher course held in Abuja. This initiative aims to prepare Nigerian football officials to meet elite global standards.

Sanusi spoke on behalf of NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, highlighting the recent program for young talent in beach soccer and the FIFA elite referee training scheme as part of a broader strategy to strengthen technical competence across all levels of Nigerian football. He confirmed Nigeria's reinstatement in the CAF licensing coach convention, describing it as a major milestone in coach development.

The NFF is set to resume the CAF licensing course in August for the first time in nine years, with a total of 50 participants in the refresher course, 25 of whom will be admitted to the CAF licensing course, which aims to set high standards in coaching.
