NFF Endorses Gianni Infantino for FIFA Presidency Election

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), under the leadership of Ibrahim Gusau, has officially endorsed the current FIFA President Gianni Infantino ahead of the upcoming FIFA presidential election. This endorsement was confirmed during a meeting held with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe on April 29, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada.

The meeting brought together representatives from 54 CAF member associations, who focused on the future of football administration. At the conclusion of the meeting, the CAF member associations unanimously agreed to support Infantino's candidacy for a new term as FIFA President, covering the 2027-2031 election cycle.

Infantino has served as FIFA President since 2016 and is seeking to extend his leadership role, which CAF members described as having made significant progress in global football development.
