NGF and AGC Deny Nigeria's Suspension Claims

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) and the African Golf Confederation (AGC) have dismissed allegations of Nigeria's suspension from the AGC as false and misleading. NGF President Otunba Olusegun Runsewe condemned the reports, asserting they were unauthorized and unverified.

He warned that legal action would be pursued against those responsible for disseminating the misinformation. Runsewe clarified that the NGF had paid its mandatory $1,500 affiliation fee to the AGC electronically the previous week, negating any basis for suspension.

He also stated that the National Sports Commission (NSC) is responsible for handling international affiliation fees for national sports federations. Runsewe communicated with AGC President Ambassador Johnson Omolo, who confirmed that no interview or statement regarding Nigeria's suspension was authorized or issued.

Furthermore, Runsewe emphasized that the AGC has no administrative role in the All Africa Challenge Trophy and assured that preparations for Nigeria to host the 2026 championship are proceeding as planned.
