NGF Launches Roadmap for Youth Golf Development

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) has introduced a new roadmap aimed at enhancing grassroots development and youth empowerment in golf. This initiative was announced by NGF President Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, OON, during the second edition of the NGF Stakeholders’ Summit held in Abuja.

The summit, themed “Finding the Fairway: Sustainable Growth and Youth Development,” gathered representatives from over 46 golf clubs to discuss the future of golf in Nigeria. Runsewe emphasized the importance of grassroots and youth development, advocating for investments in young players and establishing pathways for their progression in the sport.

The NGF is also reviewing various aspects of golf administration, including competitions and infrastructure. Furthermore, Runsewe announced plans to strengthen partnerships with airlines and hotels to enhance tournament logistics and promote sports tourism.

The federation is preparing to host the All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) from November 1–7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, with support from Dr Lami Onayi Ahmed, President of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria.
