Ngige Warns APC Against Using His Name For Campaign

Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against using his name and image for political campaigns. Ngige issued the caution after a campaign poster featuring him alongside APC governorship candidate for Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, surfaced online.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Hyggy Obialo, Ngige clarified that he has stepped back from active partisan politics and did not give consent for his image to be used in the campaign. Ngige, who served as Governor of Anambra State from 2003 to 2006 and held the ministerial portfolio for Labour and Employment from 2015 to 2023, emphasized that he is currently on a sabbatical from politics.

He urged those responsible for the campaign poster to respect his wishes and refrain from using his name without permission.
