Abdulrazaq Isa Honored for Transformative Leadership in Nigeria's Energy Sector

Abdulrazaq Isa, a prominent Nigerian business leader, has been recognized by NIES 2026 for his transformative leadership in Nigeria's energy sector. With a career spanning over three decades, Isa has held key roles in various financial institutions before co-founding Safetrust Savings and Loans Ltd.

He later ventured into the oil and gas industry, co-founding Waltersmith Group in 1990. Under his leadership, Waltersmith has made significant strides in the upstream oil and gas sector, including the successful commercial export of crude oil and strategic acquisitions in the industry.

Isa's vision led to the establishment of Waltersmith's modular refinery, contributing to Nigeria's energy security by reducing import dependence. Currently serving as the Chairman of Waltersmith Group, Isa oversees strategic investments and long-term growth initiatives, positioning the company as a leading indigenous energy enterprise.
