Nigerian Electoral Reform Faces Delays and Challenges Amid Constitution Amendment

The Nigerian electoral reform process is facing delays and challenges as the National Assembly works on amending the constitution and electoral laws. The process, aimed at improving the quality and integrity of elections, has experienced significant delays in public hearings and voting on the constitution review bill.

The Youth Electoral Reform Project (YERP Naija) has been actively involved in advocating for reform. Despite efforts to engage the public and hold discussions, bottlenecks and delays have hindered progress, raising concerns about the timely completion of the reforms before the next elections.
