Labour Party Celebrates Nigeria's Independence, Urges Hope

The Labour Party has joined Nigerians in celebrating the 66th anniversary of the nation's independence. In a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party acknowledged the numerous challenges and missed opportunities Nigeria has faced over the decades.

Despite these issues, Asogwa noted that Nigeria's continued existence as a united nation reflects a collective resolve. He pointed out that many of the current economic and security challenges stem from years of ineffective leadership.

The Labour Party urged citizens not to lose hope, asserting that meaningful change requires accountability from leaders. Asogwa highlighted the party's fielding of competent candidates for the upcoming general elections, including the leadership of Governor Alex Otti in Abia State as an example of effective governance.

The party called for empathetic, just, and transparent governance that prioritizes citizens' welfare, reaffirming its faith in the Nigerian people's ability to overcome challenges and realize the nation's potential.
