Nigeria Cricket Federation Wins ICC Criiio Award

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has been awarded the ICC Criiio award for its significant contributions to grassroots cricket development, particularly through the Criiio Cricket Festival held in Zamfara State. This festival aimed to showcase cricket as a vehicle for inclusion and social change, empowering communities and encouraging greater participation in the sport.

The NCF's initiatives were recognized for breaking barriers and laying the foundation for sustainable growth in women's cricket across northwest Nigeria. Uyi Akpata, President of the NCF, described the award as a victory for everyone committed to developing the sport and a proud moment for Nigerian cricket.

He reaffirmed the commitment to creating greater opportunities for young girls whose lives are touched by cricket. Jai Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council, praised the award recipients for their extraordinary work in delivering impactful cricket initiatives globally.
