Nigeria Nominated for Two ICC Development Awards 2025

Nigeria has been nominated for two categories in the 2025 ICC Development Awards, which will be announced in July. The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) leads Africa with nominations in seven categories.

The women's team is recognized for their outstanding performance, having finished sixth in the ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup in Malaysia, which helped Nigeria emerge as Africa's regional winner. They will compete against Brazil, UAE, Japan, and Scotland for the global prize.

Additionally, the NCF is nominated for the ICC Cricket Festival category, acknowledging their successful cricket introduction festivals across various cities. The global winners will be determined by an independent panel of voters, including former cricketers Samuel Badree, Kevin O'Brien, and Mari Ann Musonda.

The ICC Development Awards, established in 2002, celebrate the efforts of ICC member nations in growing the game of cricket globally.
