Nigeria Customs Service Hits ₦4.30trn Revenue in 2026

The Nigeria Customs Service reported a revenue collection of ₦4.30 trillion in the first six months of 2026, representing 36.4% of its ₦11.074 trillion target for the year. This information was presented during the 65th Regular Meeting of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, chaired by Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele.

To meet its annual target, the Customs Service needs to collect approximately ₦6.77 trillion in the remaining six months of the year. The Board emphasized the importance of sustaining revenue mobilization through enhanced compliance, trade monitoring, and efficient customs processes.

Additionally, the Board confirmed the appointment of one Deputy Comptroller-General, Constantine Dim, and five Assistant Comptroller-Generals from various regions. The meeting also addressed the ongoing recruitment exercise, disciplinary matters, and the approval of the Nigeria Customs Service De-Minimis Regulation, 2025, aligning it with the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.
