Nigeria Customs Service Generates N1.38 Trillion Revenue

The Nigeria Customs Service reported a revenue generation of N1.38 trillion between July and August 2026, as announced by the National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, during a press briefing in Abuja. The revenue comprised N784.65 billion collected in July and N595.58 billion in August.

Notably, the Apapa Area Command achieved a record monthly revenue of N323 billion in July and a single-day collection record of N28.1 billion on August 18, 2026. The Service processed 90,985 Single Goods Declarations and 8,873 Pre-Arrival Assessment Reports during this period.

Additionally, the Lilypond Export Command reported $792.57 million in export value for Q2 2026, marking a 24.35% increase from the previous year. In anti-smuggling operations, the Service seized contraband with a Duty Paid Value exceeding N61.3 billion, including significant interceptions by the Adamawa/Taraba Command and FOU Zone ‘A’.
