Nigeria Customs Service Supports National Merit Award

Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, pledged the agency's continued support for the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA) during a courtesy visit to its secretariat in Maitama, Abuja. He described the NNMA as a vital platform for recognizing excellence and inspiring future generations of Nigerians.

The NNMA, established in 1979, is the country's highest honor for intellectual and academic excellence, acknowledging significant contributions to national development through scholarships, research, and professional accomplishments. Adeniyi stressed the importance of recognizing excellence to promote innovation and hard work, urging younger generations to understand that there are no shortcuts to success.

He also mentioned that the Nigeria Customs Service would explore legal avenues to strengthen its partnership with the NNMA and provide further support for the agency's operations. Merci Musa, a member of the NNMA management team, congratulated Adeniyi on his recent election as chairman of the World Customs Organization Council.
