NIGCOMSAT Boosts Security and Disaster Response with Satellite Technology

Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) is leveraging satellite technology to enhance national security, disaster response, and rural connectivity as part of the country's digital transformation agenda. The Managing Executive Officer of NIGCOMSAT, Jane Nkechi, emphasized the importance of satellite infrastructure in providing internet access to rural communities, supporting weather forecasting, and strengthening disaster response systems.

Engr Abiodun Attah, the Executive Director of Technical Services, highlighted the crucial role of satellite technology in everyday life, driving communication, education, healthcare, commerce, and governance. Nkechi stressed the significance of bridging the knowledge gap on complex technology for everyday Nigerians.

The training session held at the NIGCOMSAT Ground Control Station in Abuja aimed to underscore the practical applications of satellite technology in various sectors.
