NIS Extends UK Passport Exercise to October 2026

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an extension of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to October 3, 2026, following significant demand at processing centers in London and Manchester. This announcement was made via a statement signed by NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, and shared on the service's official X account on a Friday.

Within the first four days of the exercise, 1,477 Nigerians were successfully enrolled, with more than half of the passports already produced and dispatched to applicants' home addresses. The extension beyond the original September 19 deadline was directed by the Minister of Interior in response to the high volume of applicants.

Eligible applicants must book appointments through the NIS website and bring necessary documents to their appointments. The fees for the passports are set at $162 for a five-year booklet and $242 for a ten-year booklet, with no additional charges required for participation in the exercise.
