Nigeria Launches University Advancement Program for Growth

Nigeria has initiated a university program designed to drive sustainable growth, as announced by Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa during a keynote address at the conclusion of a training exercise.

The program, known as the University Advancement Program (UAP), aims to enhance the capacity of universities by fostering partnerships with the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) and other institutions. Dr.

Alausa emphasized the need for universities to strengthen their systems, engage alumni, and improve fundraising efforts to boost financial resilience and research visibility. The Federal Government, under President Tinubu's leadership, is committed to advancing higher education and aligning it with national development priorities.

The initiative will also focus on equipping university leaders with practical skills for alumni engagement and fundraising. Clair Jemid, chairman of the technical working committee at NHEF, reiterated the foundation's commitment to strengthening Nigeria's higher education sector through strategic partnerships.
