Duke Calls for Urgent Action to Save Nigeria from Crisis

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the upcoming 2027 elections, has raised alarms about Nigeria's current state, emphasizing the need for urgent intervention to prevent impending disaster. In an interview on Arise News on Tuesday, Duke, who served as the governor of Cross River State from 1999 to 2007, expressed that if the nation’s trajectory is not addressed within the next four years, it could lead to further crises.

He criticized the country’s slow economic growth, deteriorating security, and poor governance, stating, “The economy is broken; it’s not growing.” Duke referenced a recent scandal involving the alleged establishment of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council and its purported Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, as indicative of governance failures. He also noted the fragmentation of political parties in Nigeria, urging them to unite for a common goal.
