Nigeria and Thailand Collaborate on Agricultural Innovation

Nigeria has entered into a partnership with Thailand to advance its agricultural sector through a memorandum of understanding signed in Lagos. Dr. Dabban, the Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), highlighted the necessity of international partnerships for knowledge exchange, modern technologies, research collaboration, and human-capacity development.

He stated that the collaboration would benefit researchers, farmers, and agricultural stakeholders by providing innovative solutions to challenges in food production and agricultural development. Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu, the provost and chief executive officer of the Federal Cooperative College in Oji River, Enugu State, discussed the project's focus on sustainability and its target audience, including host communities, students, farmers, cooperative societies, and the private sector.

The signing ceremony and launch of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) mark a significant milestone in enhancing Nigeria-Thailand cooperation, aiming to strengthen agricultural research, innovation, technology transfer, and overall food security under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda.
