Nigeria and Thailand Sign MoU for Professional Deployment

Nigeria and Thailand have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deploying Nigerian professionals to Thailand on a fee-paying basis. Dr. Yusuf Yakub, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), announced this development in Abuja during an orientation for 18 NTAC volunteers destined for universities in Rwanda.

Yakub highlighted that various countries are keen to engage young Nigerian professionals to address manpower shortages. He described the initiative as a means to provide dignified employment, combat illegal migration, and alleviate youth unemployment.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for revitalizing the NTAC program, which has seen a resurgence since 2023. The program has facilitated regular deployments of Nigerian volunteers across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific.

Yakub urged the volunteers to embody professionalism and discipline, reminding them of the rigorous selection process they underwent. He encouraged them to build on the successes of previous volunteers who have achieved significant positions abroad.
