Nigeria Police Invites VeryDarkMan to Substantiate Claims

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has officially invited social media influencer Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to present evidence supporting his allegations that police personnel at checkpoints identify wealthy individuals and share this information with kidnappers. These claims were made during the recent Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

CSP Anietie Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, stated that the NPF takes such allegations seriously but firmly rejects them as unsubstantiated and damaging to the institution. He emphasized that police officers are deployed to prevent crime and protect citizens, not to facilitate kidnappings.

Iniedu called for Mr. Otse to provide evidence for his serious allegations, stating that accusations without evidence are demoralizing to the officers who serve under challenging conditions. The NPF maintains that while individual officers may face disciplinary action if found guilty, the entire institution should not be condemned based on unverified public statements.
