Nigeria Advocates Regional Collaboration for Digital Growth

During the 7th special session of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) held in Abuja, Nigeria, Nadungu Gagar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, called for greater collaboration among African countries to enhance the continent's digital economy. Gagar, representing the Director of the ATU, Ahm Alsukun, stressed that regional cooperation is essential for building a strong and inclusive digital economy that empowers the growing youth population.

He highlighted the importance of working together to expand connectivity, improve digital infrastructure, promote skills, strengthen cybersecurity, and protect data to create opportunities for people. Nonkqubela Jordan Dyani, Chairperson of the ATU Administrative Council, and John Omo, the ATU Secretary-General, also spoke at the event, with Omo noting that the ATU's efforts are crucial for statutory preparations for future conferences.

The discussions aimed to maximize the impact of digital initiatives across the region.
