Nigeria Falconets Crush New Caledonia 10-1 in U-20 World Cup

On Sunday, Nigeria's U-20 Women's National Team, known as the Falconets, achieved a significant victory against New Caledonia, winning 10-1 in their final Group F match of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup held in Poland. This win allowed Nigeria to qualify for the knockout stage, finishing second in the group with four points, behind Spain, which topped the group with nine points.

Ramotalahi Kareem and substitute Winner David each scored hat-tricks, while Rebecca Adegbemile contributed with two goals. The scoring began with Kareem converting a penalty in the 17th minute, followed by Adegbemile's goal two minutes later.

By halftime, Nigeria led 4-0. In the second half, David's performance helped extend the lead, culminating in a final score of 10-1, with New Caledonia scoring a consolation goal through Joceline Kourevi in the 89th minute.

Nigeria's journey in the tournament began with a 2-0 loss to Spain and a 0-0 draw with China.
