Nigeria Volleyball Federation Names 22 Players for Camp

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced the invitation of 22 players to a training camp in preparation for the 2026 African Men’s Volleyball Nations Championship, which will take place in Tunis, Tunisia, from September 13 to 27. Originally scheduled for the Democratic Republic of Congo, the tournament's location has been changed.

The invited squad consists of four setters, five middle blockers, six outside hitters, four opposites, and three liberos. Notably, four foreign-based players—Arinze Nwachukwu, Vincent Mathias, Pascal Okoye, and Izuchukwu Oforah—are included in the roster, while the remaining 18 players were selected from the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

The men's national team will be under the guidance of Japanese coach Ryan Masajedi, assisted by Taiwo Oladipupo, Tswevini Yohanna, and Jonah Adamu. Prince Tunde Omisore, Technical Chairman of the NVBF Board, expressed confidence in Masajedi's experience.

The camping exercise is set to begin on Saturday, August 22, following the women's national team's departure for the 2026 African Championship in Kenya.
