Nigerian Air Force Assembles First Two H125 Helicopters

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has completed the local reassembly of its first two H125 helicopters at NAF Base Ikeja, Lagos. This achievement was announced in a statement released on Monday, indicating that the helicopters were delivered by Airbus Helicopters and reassembled with assistance from Airbus technical personnel.

The NAF stated that this exercise is intended to strengthen technical collaboration, facilitate knowledge transfer, and improve the practical exposure of NAF personnel to the maintenance of modern rotary-wing platforms. Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff, described this development as a significant step towards enhancing the technical and operational capacity of the NAF.

He emphasized the commitment to not only acquire modern platforms but also to develop the necessary knowledge and partnerships to maximize their operational value. The H125 helicopters are expected to bolster ongoing air operations, including surveillance and tactical mobility.

The NAF also acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in strengthening national security capabilities.
