Nigerian Army Service Centre in Bauchi Now Operational

The Nigerian Army Comprehensive Service Centre, located at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps (NAAC) in Bauchi, officially became operational following its formal handover by the Chinese establishment China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) on Thursday. The Centre was commissioned in April 2025 by the then Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen OO Oluyede.

Major General C.A. Ekeator, the Managing Director of the Centre, stated that it will perform comprehensive maintenance, including major overhauls and retrofitting of equipment supplied by NORINCO, ensuring that unserviceable equipment can be restored to operational fitness.

The Centre can maintain up to 20 vehicles simultaneously and will also provide training for Nigerian Army personnel. Ekeator emphasized that the Centre will improve equipment availability for ongoing operations across Nigeria, particularly in the North-East and North-West.

A NORINCO representative noted that the partnership aims to strengthen cooperation and deepen the relationship between Nigeria and China.
