Nigerian Army Warns Against NADCEL 2026 Fundraising Scam

The Nigerian Army has alerted the public about a fundraising scam associated with the NADCEL 2026 event, scheduled to take place from July 1 to July 6, 2026, commemorating the 163rd anniversary of the Nigerian Army. Colonel Appolonia Anel, the Director of Army Public Relations, stated that fraudsters are circulating fake letters requesting sponsorship and financial support from individuals, corporate organizations, and government agencies, falsely claiming to represent the Nigerian Army.

The Army categorically denied any authorization for such fundraising activities and warned the public to exercise extreme caution when responding to unsolicited financial requests. They emphasized that any impersonation of the Army for fundraising purposes would be met with legal action.

The Nigerian Army has urged members of the public to report any suspicious requests to the nearest military formation or security agency, as they intensify efforts to track down those behind the fraudulent scheme.
