Nigerian Government Extends Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway to Edo State for Regional Development

The Nigerian government has extended the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway project to include Edo State, adding an additional section to the ambitious infrastructure initiative. Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced the extension during the Edo State Independence Gala Night, revealing that the project's route now spans 750km, passing through several states.

The Coastal Highway project, initially conceived almost five decades ago, was expanded to encompass Edo State following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive. Umahi commended the Edo State government for its support and assured residents of timely and quality execution of the federal infrastructure project.

The extension of the highway aims to enhance connectivity and development across the region.
