Nigerian Government to Rebuild Fire-Damaged Iddo Bridge in Lagos

The Nigerian government, through the Federal Ministry of Works, has announced plans to demolish and reconstruct the fire-damaged Iddo Bridge in Lagos. The project, led by Mr.

Olukored Kesha, aims to restore the critical infrastructure to a safe and durable condition. The reconstruction process is set to span approximately three months, starting from next weekend.

Traffic management measures will be implemented to minimize disruptions, with heavy-duty vehicles restricted from accessing the bridge. Relevant traffic and security agencies, including LASTMA, FRSC, and the Nigeria Police Force, are engaged in ensuring smooth traffic flow during the reconstruction.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes like Eko Bridge and Costain. An advocacy campaign will also be conducted to raise awareness among truck drivers.
