Nigerian Traders Seek Chinese Support for Health and Trade

The Made in China Goods Traders Association of Nigeria, led by National President Oluwole Adigun, has formally requested support from Mrs. Yan Yuqing, the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos. In a letter dated August 17, the association seeks assistance for a cataract treatment outreach aimed at less privileged residents in Lagos, emphasizing the initiative's potential to restore sight and improve quality of life.
Additionally, the association requests consideration for its members in the Chinese Government's plan to train 5,000 Nigerians in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, as well as scholarships for undergraduate and master’s degrees. The association also seeks help in facilitating participation in two major trade exhibitions in China: the Canton Fair from October 15 to November 4, 2026, in Guangzhou, and the China International Import Expo from November 5 to 10, 2026, in Shanghai.
Adigun expressed gratitude for the recent Bamboo and Rattan Seminar, which enhanced understanding of sustainable development and economic empowerment.
